Ancient DOS Games --- Episode 108

Betrayal at Krondor

Additional Information and Corrections:

 • Here's the link to the Good Old Games website if you'd like to purchase a downloadable copy of the game:http://www.gog.com/gamecard/betrayal_at_krondor

 • When I say, "even typical RPGs don't have this much story to go through", I'm referring to the overall length of the game, not the length of time I spent getting through the first chapter. Obviously most RPGs have more than 5 hours of gameplay. ;)

 • There's quite a lot of things I didn't touch on, such as the barding system, lockpicking, teleportation, and more, however, many of these extras don't really factor into the early-game so I mostly only know of their existence and not how they work. Save for lockpicking since you're introduced to that very quickly.

 • There's also these special chests you can find that are opened by answering a riddle. The first one you come across is fairly easy, but they can get pretty tricky later on, and while a brute force approach may work when you only have three or four letters to deal with, just wait until you start seeing seven... :P

 • So... how many times did I say "massive" in this episode? ^_^;
