Ancient DOS Games --- Episode 69

Leisure Suit Larry

Additional Information and Corrections:

  • Some time after making this video, GOG.com released a $10 digital download of Leisure Suit Larry 1 thru 6, including BOTH versions of the original game! Point your way here if you want to get them: http://www.gog.com/gamecard/leisure_suit_larry

  • The copy available on the AppUp website has since disappeared since... well... AppUp kinda disappeared too. :P

  • Here's a link to Al Lowe's website where you can check out all kinds of stuff about the Leisure Suit Larry games, along with various other things he's been involved with: http://www.allowe.com

  • Another notable name in the creation of this game is Mark Crowe, who did the graphics. Waitaminute... Al Lowe... Mark Crowe... Coincidence? Probably. ;D

  • I mentioned you could beat the game in 20 to 30 minutes minus time spent in the casino if you know exactly what you're doing. This is presuming you also skip all of the text boxes too. If you're actually reading all the text that comes up as you play you'll probably end up closer to the hour mark and if you don't know what you're doing, it'll probably take you a lot longer to figure everything out. :P

  • If you fail the copy protection in the VGA version, a window pops up with five buttons you can click on. Each button is essentially just a variation of "Quit". :D
